4 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech, 3 Nights Marrakech To Merzouga Sahara Excursion

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait benhaddou – Dades gorges
You will meet your driver at the riad /hotel at 8 am and depart from Marrakech to Dades Valley, passing through the Tizi- N-Tichka pass (2260m) in the High Atlas Mountains. From Marrakech to Ouarzazate, you will enjoy the scenic road, beautiful multicolor landscapes and the Berber villages along the way. Then, you will have free time to visit the old Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, which has been recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987 and has been a backdrop for more than 20 films including “Gladiator”, “Indiana Jones”, “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Game of Thrones”. You will enjoy a walk to explore the Kasah’s Moroccan traditional style of architecture, and have lunch. Afterwards, you will go further southeast to the green Dades Valley and the ‘city of roses’ via the fascinating Skoura palm grove. Dinner and overnight will be at the Dades valley.Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
After breakfast, departure from the hotel at the Dades valley will be at 8 am, taking the Road of the 1000 Kasbahs, around the colorful Berber villages of the Dades valley. 45 km further, you will get to Tinghir with its beautiful palm grove and Jewish quarter. You continue to Todra Gorges (Todgha), and you will have free time to go on a trek along the canyons of about 300 m high, a favorite place for rock climbers. Afterwards you will leave to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara desert and you will have time for lunch on the way before you arrive to Erfoud. Then, we will head for the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. At about 4 pm you will go to ride the camels that are waiting to take you on an adventure in the Sahara, where you will watch the amazing sunset. When you arrive to the camp, you will have dinner and enjoy drum music played around fire in the middle of the Sahara. This is a great opportunity to take lovely pictures and you will spend the night in nomad tents.Day 3 : Merzouga – Ouarzazate
You will wake up early morning to witness the glorious sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. There follows breakfast at the camp and a camel trek back to the hotel at the dune line for a quick shower. We will drive to Rissani, a small Saharan town in southeast of Morocco. We can stop there to visit a fossil workshop before we continue to Agdez and Draa valley junction where we head north to Ouarzazate, after crossing the small volcanic Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight will be in Ouarzazate.Day 4: Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, we go on a visit to discover cinema sets & studios located in Ouarzazate, a city known as the ‘Hollywood of Africa’. We continue our trip to Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka pass. There will be a break for lunch in the middle of the Atlas Mountains. Drop off at your Marrakech riad/hotel.
